TASMANIA'S KIM HOLCOMB WINS INTERNATIONAL GOLD

Published Mon 22 Jun 2026

At the ITTF World Masters Championships Gangneung 2026, it looked like thousands of players from around the world coming together to compete, reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and celebrate the sport they love.
As part of the ITTF Centenary celebrations, this event was a powerful reminder that table tennis is truly FOR ALL. FOR LIFE. From players returning to competition after decades away to participants in their 90s and even over 100 years old, every table, every match, and every conversation told a unique story.
Yes, there were medals to be won and champions to be crowned. But what made Gangneung 2026 special went far beyond the results. It was the smiles after matches, the friendships renewed, the experiences shared across generations, and the sense of belonging that comes from being part of a global table tennis family.
For one unforgettable week, Gangneung became a meeting place for the past, present, and future of our sport, making it a fitting celebration of the ITTF Centenary and 100 years of table tennis.

It was at this prestigious, global event that Tasmania's Kim Holcomb walked off with the Over 75 Gold.  Well done Kim!
